Delegate Information
The symposium will be held at the American Museum of Natural History (website), located at 200 Central Park West, New York, NY. The AMNH occupies the area between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue from 77th to 81st Streets.
The AMNH was founded in 1869 and first opened the building which it occupies now in 1877, when Ulysses S. Grant laid the cornerstone at 77th Street. Aside from its world-renowned collections, which now exceed 23 million specimens, the AMNH is historically known for its groundbreaking expeditions, scientists who are leaders in their field, and of course, its trademark dioramas. We hope you will take time to enjoy what this ‘Grande Dame’ Museum has to offer while you attend ToScANA!
The banquet on May 13 will be a dinner cruise departing from Chelsea Piers and traversing the Manhattan skyline -- Little Island, Hudson Yards, One World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge and downtown Brooklyn, Yankee Stadium, the George Washington Bridge and, of course, an up-close look at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island!

Travel
NYC is, humbly, a travel hub of the world. AMNH is reasonably convenient to get to by 3 airports, 2 train stations, and 1 heliport (only partially joking). Ubers/Lyfts, yellow taxis, subways, and busses are all safe modes of transportation in this area. You’ll be surrounded by fellow travelers and locals, and the occasional person experiencing homelessness. Maintain the same amount of situational awareness you might anytime you’re in a new place. We will also ensure the ToScA Slack Channel is active for ride sharing!
